Marcas' work as a translator includes dealing with a broad spectrum of source texts from across the literary and corporate milieux. Registered with Global Language Services in Glasgow, Marcas has provided translation for clients such as The Scottish Government and The Scottish Parliament.

Simulatenous translation is also a service across the education, arts and public sectors he offers and clients have included Theatre gu Leòr, LingoFlamingo, Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce and James Gillespie's High School in Edinburgh. He can also be heard from time to time interpreting in the chamber at Holyrood for Gaelic-speaking members.

Marcas has translated literary works and promotional texts for a number of Gaelic publishers and this year sees him exploring new paths working with authors to create brand new works of bilingual children's literature - watch this space!
