Dràmaire │ Dramatist

Marcas is an award-winning Gaelic Playwright with two full-length plays in development and ripe for collaboration with theatre companies and insitutions.

He has twice won the 'Stornoway Gazette Trophy' for new Gaelic Drama at the Royal National Mòd.

Turadh follows Eamon as he confronts his demons at a series of meetings in Inverness.

The play was written with the support of Comhairle nan Leabhraichean and Playwrights' Studio Scotland, when Marcas was named 'New Gaelic Playwright of the Year' in 2016.

Written in 'la ronde' form, Tilleadh follows the trajectory of a soldier's memento, from Ness, on the north coast of Lewis, to the front and the grave, and from 1914 to the present day.

Both scripts won the 'Stornoway Gazette Trophy' for new Gaelic Drama at the Royal National Mòd.

Cleasaiche │ Actor

In 2020 Marcas acted in the Turner & Jones-directed Gaelic-language feature film Marram, the first to be filmed since 'Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle'. Audiences can catch Marcas performance as 'Pat' with the film's forthcoming release.

Diuchdadh

Marcas made his theatrical début writing, curating and directing Trosg’s multi-genre performance, Diuchdadh, for Eden Court.

The performance included a brand new micro-play, a two-hander written in Gaelic verse, and musical performances from Trosg, Siaban, Marloch, Saffron Hanvidge, Mary Ann Kennedy, Eilidh MacKenzie and the late Maggie MacDonald.
